Synopsis: Set in Canton, Mississippi, the film revolves around the rape of a young girl and the subsequent arrest and murder of the rapists by the girl’s father, Carl Lee Hailey. The remainder of the film then focuses on the trial of Carl Lee Hailey for murder. A lawyer and his assistant fighting to save a father on trial for murder, a time to question what they believe, a time to doubt what they trust and no time for mistakes.

I like this film very much. Ooops, don’t get me wrong. I am not glorifying vigilantism. I just like the story but I am not saying that it is right for Carl Lee Hailey, portrayed by Samuel Jackson, to be aquitted. In real life, no matter how badly someone wrongs you, you should never take the law into your own hands.

Overall it is great and it is a movie worth adding to your collection.

  5. Thanks for your comment at my post. Since you're a sidney sheldon fan, have you read a part 2 of master of the game? it's mistress of the game. Tilly Bagshawe was picked to write a sequel of master of the game.

I do agree with you about not taking the law into one's hands. Although on film, this could translate to a good story. Even works in Davao, I'm told. 😉
