“Jim Sanders (Michael Knight) is soon to be married to Patty (Phoebe Kates), but when he wakes up after a bachelor party thrown by his friends, he finds an injured angel (Emmanuelle Béart) in his pool. When Patty sees her, she thinks he’s seeing someone else and gets upset and tells her father. Now he has to figure out how to; cure the angel, tell Patty what happened, keep his friends from taking the angel to the papers, and keep Patty’s father from killing him. It’s no wonder he has a headache.”
I remember seeing this movie when I was in third year high school. For a teenager back then, Date with an Angel is a very romantic movie. I fell in love with it and it was one of my most favorites though for most people it was underrated because of its very simple plot and not so good special effects. Yes, it’s only now that I realized this is not a so good film. What do I expect? This film was made 23 years ago wherein special effects and technology were not the same as they are now.So how will I rate Date with an Angel? If I have to rate this movie 23 years ago, my rating would be 8/10. Now that movies are being filmed with the use of state-of-the-art technology, my rating would be 6/10.
