Hallmark for L.I.F.E.

Yesterday I had a date with my Mom and my youngest brother at Robinson’s Metro East. I was late again because I had to wait for RJ to be picked up by her service in school before I can leave. Yes, that is how it goes for a mom like me who has no helper in the house. Everything has to be fixed first before I can go out for anything.

Back to our date…after we bought some gifts for my nieces and nephews, we headed to National Bookstore to buy Christmas cards for our relatives and friends abroad. These set of cards from Hallmark caught my attention. The designs are unique, paintings from different Filipino artists showing Filipino Christmas traditions. I love them so much!

This one is entitled “Hele” by Dan Lerma M.D. “Hele” is a Filipino
term when they are trying to cradle and rock their baby to sleep.

“Mumunting Parol” (small lanterns) by Jovito Andres.

“Pagmamahalan at Pagkakaisa sa Kapaskuhan” (Love and Unity on Christmas) by Orville Tiamson.

What is good about these cards is they are not only cheaper compared to other cards but also your purchase of this card benefits L.I.F.E. or Leukemic Indigents Fund Endowment, a charitable organization dedicated to save the lives of poor children with leukemia by way of sustained medical treatment.

Again, this is not a sponsored post. I would just like to spread the word to help these children with leukemia. It feels good to know that we can help them to live their life to the fullest while extending our love to the special persons in our life.

Spread the love

Hi Rossel..Thanks for featuring my work on your blog…Most of all thank you for letting people know about Hallmark’s LIFE advocacy…The artists do not receive a single centavo for their artworks as all the proceeds from the sale of these cards go to the endowment. For me LIFE has given my works a whole new, perchance nobler meaning. Hope you continue to support Hallmark for LIFE. All the best!

Dan

It is great that Hallmark came out with Filipiniana Christmas cards. This is better than sending Christmas cards with Western settings that have no relevance whatsoever with Filipino traditions. Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.
