You can easily make me laugh. I laugh even on the corniest jokes. It is because I am a jolly person. I think not just me but most Filipinos are. Inspite of the prevailing poverty, you can see Filipinos smiling and laughing. Filipinos in nature are jolly persons. Though most Filipinos are high-achievers, they don’t have rigid perfectionist personalities that make them accept their misfortunes easily. Instead of sulking and crying, they will just laugh, stand again and move on.
Most Filipinos believe that laughter is the best medicine. For others this may be just a simple quotation or expression. The fact is, laughter is a strong medicine literally for the mind and the body. As a strong emotion, laughter involves changes in the nervous system and the endocrine system, causing an increased heart rate, changes in the muscle tone and flushing of the skin thus triggers healthy physical changes in the body. It triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers, and produces a general sense of well-being. This makes laughter the best medicine for stress and pain.
Whenever your burden is heavy or you feel blue, just feel them then let go with your laughter.
