Mom-Me Time with Doctor Fish

Have you been to Manila Ocean Park? If you have then you must have tried foot spa from Doctor Fish. I was hesitant about having fishes eat away my feet. I am very ticklish so I was afraid I can’t tolerate the tickling and would just laugh while the fishes are chomping my feet. But to my surprise, the fishes didn’t tickle me at all.

Doctor Fish

So why is it called Doctor Fish? Doctor fish is the name given to two species of fish namely Garra rufa and Cyprinion macrostomus. They eat dead skin cells and use to treat skin diseases like psoriasis.

I do not know if there are other spas in the country that have Doctor Fish. If there are, I would love to visit and have my feet nibbled again by fishes. It was fun, painless and very natural way of skin exfoliation…a very relaxing Mom-Me time.
