Are you wondering when and where the Facebook Cartoon Profile began? Facebook Cartoon Profile Picture Week apparently began in Greece and Cyprus to support the campaign against violence against children. The campaign started November 16 and is still ongoing until December 6. (source)
When I saw this posted the other day in Facebook…“Change your Facebook profile picture to a cartoon from your childhood and invite your friends to do the same, until Monday, Dec. 6. There should be no human faces on Facebook, but an invasion of memories. This is for violence against children”…I immediately changed my profile picture with my favorite cartoon character Tazmanian Devil to show my support in this advocacy.
Some people say that this is insane because there are other ways to stop the violence against children. Of course there are, but I do not think they understand the meaning of this thread. This means that childhood is about cartoons and good memories and not violence. Changing your Facebook profile picture into cartoon character is not to stop the violence literally but to show your support in the advocacy. By doing so, you can help to make people aware and conscious that even children have rights.
I have proven that I can do more than changing my Facebook profile picture to stop the violence against children. Just last week, I, together with my neighbors, filed a complaint against a neighbor who was beating his two children. He was detained in the precinct overnight but was released the next day after he made a promise that he would not lay his hands on his children ever.
I have proven that I can do something. I talked to my neighbor, the Barangay police, Barangay captain and PNP police but still, I changed my profile picture in Facebook to show how serious I am in supporting the advocacy. I do not care if I need to change my profile picture everyday or go to the precinct and file complaints again if it will benefit and save more children. That is what matters, to stop the violence against children in any way possible.

Rearing kids is not as easy as 1-2-3…the bible says kids needed the rod of discipline (proverbs 22:15) but this shouldn’t literally mean a rod…
I supported the cause too. Would you care adding me up on facebook? 🙂 My email mirage2g@gmail.com. Have a lovely week!
Yes, changing our profile pictures at Facebook can raise awareness of the problem of children abuse. But I think prayers can do more to alleviate the suffering of these helpless victims of child abuse. Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.
wow! ngayon ko lang napansin mommy ang ganda ng blog header mo! love it! 🙂
