Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of the Earth’s near-surface air and oceans. This is due to green house gases, which trap in the sun’s infrared rays in the earth’s atmosphere, which in turn heat up the earth’s atmosphere.
The global warming affects the season cycle. These past years, there are drastic changes in temperatures and weathers. The summers are getting longer than the winters and there are also unpredictable heavy rains in some areas resulting to flash floods. It is also believed to be the cause of glacier retreat, species extinctions and spread of tropical diseases.
There are many things you can do today to reduce your own adding on to this problem. Using energy more efficiently can help to reduce global warming emissions. Support the earth hour and show that you care about the climate change.
