Though there are news releases that the world economy is getting better, deflation is still present in the large part of the world. Many countries are facing financial crisis with rampant unemployment and poorer nations have to survive trying to meet their basic needs. Oil prices have gone up and the prices of basic commodities have also gone up. In fact, 8 of 10 supermarket shoppers see no improvement in the economy, and 40% says things have actually gotten worse in recent months. This is based on the research conducted by GfK Custom Research North America about the Recession, Recovery & Store Brands. That is why many consumers are tightening their budgets and 62% of the consumers are now patronizing Store-Brand products.

With the crisis we are facing right now, buying Store Brand products is a wise move. These products are definitely much less expensive but perform as well or better than their expensive brand counterparts. 49% of consumers say their new Store Brand selections compare constructively. Consumers who switched to Store Brand items are now happy with their new choice most especially with the Parent’s Choice milk formula. With the milk formula alone, each family can save $600 a year. Plus the savings on other Store Brand products, that is big savings!

The status of the economy may vary from country to country, but still, consumers need to be wise in buying their basic needs.  Why pay more for those big names if you can get the same or better quality at a cheaper price? No wonder Store Brand products are now the choice of most consumers.
