2011 Resolution-Work Harder and Save

Last holiday season, we were so busy but we had so much fun. It was fun being with my family and friends. I realized what I missed. So this year, I will make sure to have more time with my family, not just hubby and RJ but also my parents and siblings. Maybe you are wondering how I would do that with my only new years resolution and that is “working harder” which means exerting more effort and be more serious on blogging (posting, blog hopping, joining the weekly memes, finishing tasks on time). By working harder, everything will follow.  Hard work equals more moolah, more moolah equals vacations and vacation equals more bonding time with my loved ones.

I cannot count how many times Rhonnel and I planned out of town vacations but none of them materialized because of financial constraints. The last time we had an out of town vacation was four years ago. There were times I told myself “I could have done better and saved”. Well, there is no use crying over spilled so it is time to move on, get serious in  making those plans happen…and the solution would be work harder and save. For the meantime, I will try to finish my tasks earlier so that 6pm onwards would be my family’s bonding time.

A Thrilling and Exciting Vacation

We will be celebrating our 11th anniversary soon and until now we do not have any plans yet due to financial constraints. But if I am to ask, I want something different this time. We have tried soothing vacations in the splendid beaches, swimming in the blue waters and lazing in good hotels so what I want now is something thrilling and exciting like France boating holidays.

France boating holiday is perfect if you are a nature lover or if youjust simply want to leave the roads and the city rush for few days or more. Youwill have several places to visit which is far different when you stay on aresort or hotel. France boasts a huge network of rivers and canals taking you throughcountryside that is spectacular and varied. You can see the nature’s secretsfrom the inside and enjoy direct access to birds and nature reserves.

My husband and I are working most of the time. What we need is quiet comforts like these wherein we will have no access to cellphones and computers. We will sleep when we want, wake up when we want and eat what we want. Well, this is impossible yet because of our very little budget but who knows? There might be a blessing to pour out from somewhere.

Inexpensive Vacation

Having family vacation once in a while is very important. Aside from it is the time for the kids to  have fun and learn new things, it is also the time for the parents to unwind and get away from tons of office work loads and everyday pressures in the household. Vacations also allow the family to reconnect, renew ties and most importantly, this is where most of the treasured memories are being created.

Due to financial constraints, we were not able to have our major vacation last summer as planned. Instead we just went swimming a few times with some friends and stayed overnight in a hotel on a weekend. Well, vacation need not always be a grand and expensive one. There are inexpensive ways to take that much needed breather like what we did. It can be a weekend in a nearby resort or a caravan park, a fishing, a road trip or simply a few days in your home town in the province. Simple places like these can help you get away from the city routines.

Vacation is the compensation for your hard work. Do not postpone your vacation just because you don’t have enough money for a grand one. You can still have fun and get experiences even in the cheapest and least exotic vacations. Remember that these experiences will contribute to you and your child happiness.
