poor tree! can anyone save the tree?

Stop watering it, trim back the dead branches, and wait. If it doesn't come back, return it and get a new tree.Its possible that you may have a root problem causing it to die.
it is a sad post. i really wish we could do something to save the trees..

Lovely Blue Sky and the tree I've seen a lot here in Israel a dead tree but on the winter leaves comes out:)

Dead tree trunks reaching up into the sky like that are incredibly attractive. You have done a good job of showing this.
