Only 42 days before Christmas. My daughter is doing the countdown everyday and she is so excited. She thinks of what gift to ask from Santa Claus and so I told her that Santa was affected by the recession too and that she should ask for a gift that is not too expensive. Then she said that Christmas biscuits would be enough for her. Wink!
The air is getting colder everyday as well. I do not know if it is only me who thinks that there is something unique about Christmas air. Aside from the cold breeze, the surroundings aroma is different. Everybody is having their cup of coffees or teas anytime of the day. The freshly roasted coffee beans and the natural flavors that arise from the tea leaves are very distinctive that it will make a tea gift basket with teapot a perfect gift this season.
But what I love most about Christmas are the peace and goodwill. It is the time of reconciliations, of giving gifts and Christmas cake. Enemies become friends and friends become more friends. Relationships become more intimate and families become closer. Now I know, what makes Christmas air different. It is the divine presence that we are inhaling. And I hope that this divine air would suspend in the atmosphere the whole year round, Christmas or not.
