Me, together with RJ and my friends, went to Quezon Memorial Circle this morning for the kids to try the park’s new go-kart and paddle boat. At the same time, it is in Planas garden of the said park where the World Book and Copyright Day is being celebrated so we dropped by because I have learned that there will be storytelling and puppet show that the kids would love to see.
Every year, the World Book and Copyright Day organizer which is the National Book Development Board, partners with Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines to promote reading, publishing and protection of intellectual property through copyright. This year, they came up with the high school-theme event “Summer Slam”, with picture taking, poetry performances, musical performances, rap contest, mini book fair, storytelling, puppet show and live bands…truly a great way to educate everyone about the copyright and encourage them, particularly young people, to read.
Sadly, we were not able to stay longer because of the scorching heat. Though the place is surrounded and covered by big trees, still we can’t stand the sultry air. How I wished it is held on a covered place with air coolers or Casablanca ceiling fans. Nonetheless, my daughter loved the event and preferred to stay with her dad.
