Question of the week: How did you spend your 4th of July?
Filipinos remember 4th of July as Filipino-American friendship day but we are not celebrating it. I don’t know why. We are not celebrating 4th of July here in our country but neither we are ignorant that 4th of July is a holiday for America’s Independence over the British, for it is being taught in schools as part of the world history.
On 4th of July I cooked something special, “lechong paksiw” (roasted pig in sweet and sour sauce). My husband and I were craving for it and it was only that day we were able to find roasted pig in the market. I will post the recipe of “roasted pig in sweet and sour sauce” on my food blog “Kitchen Essentials“.

aww..sana matikman ko rin ang lechong paksiw mo,Mommy Rossel!had that dish nung umuwi kami sa pinas^_^
Masarap nga ang paksiw na lechon kaya lang bawal na bawal sa akin dahil of too much cholesterol in that dish, lol. Maraming masasarap na pagkain pero bawal sa mga may sakit lalo na't may high blood. Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.
